Default crx engine tuning

Just a simple question: how much hp can be taken out of a 1.6 DOCH crx engine (not vtec) and how to do it. What should be changed and for example does 1.6engine take a lets say 50hp nitroboost? Or would that kill the engine? I understand it's a pretty dumb question for you crx maniacs but could you make a simple list to a newby? Thanks a lot!

the motor u r talking about it only the zc i believe. im not that great with the motor aspect so dont quote me. thats the motor i have to decided to purchase because it is pretty easy to turbo. you could pretty easily shoot a 50 shot of NO2 with the stock internals as long as the motor was taken care of previously and you take good care of it. and you cant put a specific number on how much power you can make out of any motor. it all depends of a few things. 1. either you have a lot of knowledge about motors and you are doing the work yourself or 2. you have the cash to have someone do it all for u. there is no real limit to how fast you can go with any motor the only thing that ever restricts anyone from goin faster is the lack of knowledge and/or funds. if u have enough of either one of those the sky is the limit. good luck with your project.

Most things that I have read seem to say that the stock bottom end can take 200 hp. As for how you want to accomplish this, you could use nitrous, a turbo, or a supercharger. I believe that the greddy turbo kit for the 92 - 95 civic will fit, but you will have to bend new charge lines. Also, jackson racing makes a supercharger for this engine.

200hp? really? I've never heard of anyone saying a stock ZC bottom end can take this...

in sport compact car, they had a normal 1.6 sohc crxsi, with a turbo, and said that you can use the stock fuel pump, clutch, and bottom end, up til 200hp, but said that if any higher, you would need to build up the bottom end stronger with rods and pistons etc..
