I think you should just buy a manual ecu.
Jumping resistors and soldering the board may be a little beyond you. Not saying you're not capable, but if you mess it up you'll have to buy a new one anyway.
SOHC D ecu's go for peanuts.

When you aren't a trial member anymore you can try here in the marketplace, in the meantime try ebay or http://www.craigslist.com
