Default Jacking my car up and putting jack stands--please help!!!!

***I already did a search and did not find what I was looking for.***

Sup guys, I'm going to change my tranny fluid change on my EM1, but I got a problem: my scissor jack will not get my car high enough to put my jackstands.

I have a heavy duty pump jack, but it's so wide that I won't be able to lift the car on the under brackets and have enough room to fit the jack. So here's my question:

Is it safe to jack my car up on anywhere other than the brackets so I will have room to place the jackstands on the brackets underneith the car?? I just don't want to damage anything. Thank you so much for your help!

Sure, use any part of the frame.

Ok, so if I just place the jack further to the right of the bracket, I'm straight, right? Thanks for saving my a$$ again, ek forever!

Just make sure it's a solid metal area, I've made the mistake of thinking I'm using the frame, and then jacking up on plastic. It's not hard to tell what will and wont bend.

Drive up on some bricks or wood so you can get enough height so you can use your good jack.

Piece of wood under your oil pan between the jack also works.

werd. that's what i do everytime. my cousin tried this once and instead of putting the jack on the frame he was off by a few inches and ended up bending his floor pan.

there is a place under the front bumper to jack the car up also.

It is very obvious when you look under there.
