Default magnaflow any opinions??

i had a ride in my friends car with a magnaflow rear muffler. i was very impressed at how quiet it is for a straight through muffler. seems to me to be a good idea, noise level of a baffled design.... only it's straight through.

it is much quieter than my other friends tanabe muffler (not straight through).

I already have a full system on my car... 4-2-1 headers, stainless mandrel bent cat back, high flo cat... all going into an ITR rear muffler, do u think it would be worth my while to change to the magnaflow muffler?
or are the performance gains from switching to a straight through design negligable?

I thought Magnaflow mufflers were mainly for domestics...

magnaflow caters to imports also; they have catback systems for honda/acura and universal mufflers if you want to get your own piping.

i bought a universal magnaflow 3" muffler with the intention of getting 3" mandrel bent piping made but i've had a bitch of a time trying to find somebody resonably close in the bay area to do so.

When I first got magnaflow muffler on my teg, it was stock quiet with the stock piping until you stepped on it. But after I got the 2 1/4 inch piping, the sound just droned. It's not so much in sheer volume, but the sound is really deep which makes highway cruising almost impossible. I am not too sure how much more power it gives you, but I am sure is competitve with most of the straight through mufflers out there. This muffler is a really good value at $120 US and comes with a lifetime warranty. I think the choice is really dependent on whether you like the extra noise than real performance gain.

I have a 14 inch magnaflow pre muffler and a oval Magnaflow muffler on 2.5 inch mandrel bent piping. I love it and it is quiet as hell, oh and I have things on the car like a B18C5 and a Hytech header, so this motor makes alot of noise
