oil light, and tempgauge wont work
i started the motor and fixed the fuel leak and the car idles fine but after it runs a little bit the oil light comes on and the temp gauge doesnt work i think the temp gauge is just a plug i missed somewhere, but the oil has gotten me stumped any ideas, and i hear a funny noise coming from around the alternator area it kinda sounds like something rubbing but i dont know.
sending unit for coolant temp gauge is on the end of the head below the distributor - 1-wire connector with yellow/green wire - the oil pressure sending unit is on the back of the block next to the oil filter - 1-wire connector with yellow/red wire

thank you i thought that the sending unit for the coolant was under the distributor but i couldnt find the right color wire that came off the motor when i got it to the right wire in the engine bay, i just gotta find the wire and plug it in

i hooked up the temp wire it works fine now, but the red and yellow oil plug is plugged in and the light is still coming on what else could it be, could it be my oil pump?

how do you tell if its good whats a good, what am i looking for on a bad one?
well theres a weird noise like a little bit of grinding, so i put a pry bar on the alternater and listened and i could hear it through the bar so i thought bearings in alternater, or is it worn out bearings from the oil, no the light doesnt go out when i rev up, but when i turn off the car it goes away and when i turn it back on, it comes back in like 15 seconds or so.

if it was mine, i would go to Autozone, Checker, etc. and get a new sending unit for it to see if that fixes it - less than $10
i got one on the old motor worked fine when it was running ill just use that one to check it how do you take it off tools, do i need to drain the oil?
got a new one and its still does the same thing gonna check the pressure in the motor tomorrow or tuesday when my dad brings the gauge home
well i put the new one on and it does the same thing, but the new one i ordered was from a CRX SI, and it was different than the old on i took off the ZC motor, would it make a difference? they both fit but maybe they had different suff in them,
i dunno im sumped

Dude, why not just stick with one string and ask your questions from there? Also you can use the search feature; lots of people successfully use it every day. Thanks.
Why do you have like 5 posts going? Try and search.
To eliminate the alternator just remove your alternator belt and see if the noise goes away. You said you blew up your old motor correct? I would not use a oil pump of a blown motor on a good motor. If you know what you are doing you can take apart the pump and inspect it but they are only like 100 bucks and I normally replace them. Your timing cover could be draging against the crank/t-belt gear or something. Just a thought. Does the oil light go away when you rev the motor?
