I prefer having mud guards because it helps keep the sides of the car from getting so dirty. However I gave in and removed my front mudguards because the scraped on EVERY speedbump and dip in the road.
I kept the rear ones because it helps to visually complete the rear wheel arch (extends the arch down farther, since I don't have any kind of rear lip).

But the job it does, protecting mud and **** from sticking to the sides/rear of your car is wayyyyy
I'd say keep them unless your a car-wash freak and hand wash your car every 3 days.

Yosemite Sam "Back Off" 18-wheeler mud flaps!
at least it helps on the interstate when its done raining but you have to run the wipers at full blast cuz half the cars on the road dont have rear mudflaps and cuase this mass updraft of mist to fly onto your car, mixed with dirt and road grime.
and unless u wash ur car alot, those front mudflaps will come in handy keeping some of that stuff off of it. i wish my car had some. im a bitch for washing not so often and i find that stuff hard to wash off.
