Default knocking since switching oils?

When I first bought my ITR 2 months ago, I had an oil change done and used regular 5w30 oil. After reading good things about the German Castrol 0w30, I decided to switch to that when I did my oil change last Saturday. Ever since that day, I've been hearing a knocking. Could this simply be from the oil being too thin? I'm gonna drain the oil tomorrow and put the 5w30 we have at work in it and see what happens. If its the oil, I'm out $40. If not...well, lets just hope its the oil.

If your hearing a knocking, stop driving the car.
Get your self an oil pressure gauge and install it asap.
This will probably verify that you have a spun bearing & need to rebuild the motor...

learned it the hard way. thin oil (royal purple) plus hard driving in the canyon = spun bearing.

Mobil 1. Might be switching though, still 10/30 just a different brand. I still change it in under 3000 miles.

I have no choice but to drive it. I've got no other means of transportation, and no place to store the R for awhile if I don't drive it. I'm hoping replacing the oil with thicker oil will save it.

dont bother driving it. if your lucky you may get 50 miles out of it. park it and save up for new parts. dont ever push it to hard if you know your baby might have an issue.

Park the R, save up & fix it or whatever you gotta do, even if it means going back to the old Huffy bike in the shed.
