Is the Skunk2 coilovers bouncy?
I just recently bought me some Skunk2 coilovers but I didnt not install them on my car yet. I was wondering if there bouncy at all? I still have my stock shocks but im planning on replacing them later. any rsx owners have skunk2 coilovers?!! with stock shocks and also is the skunk2 shocks any good? some help plz!
its prob gonna be really stiff, i have tein springs and my car got a lil stiffer sooo....but i was thinkin of gettin the skunk2 coilovers too..the ones that r jus adjustable springs...does urs jus slip over the stock shocks?
Pretty much anytime you put aftermarket springs on stock shocks your ride is going to go to hell, especially with sleeved coilover linear-type springs.
So yes, say bye to any kind of pleasant ride with that setup.

I currently have the Skunk2 Coilover springs on my 03 base model..I, too, am still on stock shocks and my ride is getting bouncier and bouncier..i am probably going to blow my shocks sooner than you would though because all 4 of the springs are pretty much set to the lowest height..which is my fault but i can't help the slammed look
...i'm planning to get some koni yellows and then raising the car after that though because anything lower than a 1.5-1.7 drop on RSX's result in a very big decrease in handling..or so that's what i learned through the thread i posted a month or so ago..

To stop the bouncyness w/o getting a coil kit struts are a must with every spring buy. If you jsut get the Skunk2 coil overs you stock struts will blow out and it's ride like a boat.

actually i did go the cheap route and bought skunk2 coilovers on my typeS, cuz i was on a budget. One thing about the type S is that it comes with performance struts. Mine are lowered to about 1 1/2 i belive i can't remember i did it so long ago. Struts have not blown since i bought the car, which was 3-4 yrs ago. My car is real bouncy but not all to hell. I do not recommend going the cheap route as i learned the hard way. I just don't like the way it feels. I had tokico blues, brand new never used i just recently sold for my car. Chose to sell them because i was actually going to get full coilovers. I didn't like the idea that you have to cut your bell housing (the part that holds the coilovers) in order to lower your car and be able to adjust your height when need be. Only in North America will you see companies sell coilovers seperate from the struts. I'd say just sell those skunk2 coilovers and save up and buy full coilovers.
coilovers are not for ride comfort they are for performance and the cheaper you pay the worse the ride you will get. skunk 2 i hear is really bouncy . stiick with the FULL set up and you get better performance and an ok ride comfort.

i ran skunk 2 coilovers, with KYB 8 way adjustables, my hatch road like a caddy..... i see no point to spend 1300.00 on tein Suspension, unless you have some serious track days in mind

again it also depends on your preference and yes on what application you are using them for. You also don't have to spend 1300 on full coilovers.. not saying you have to buy tien but i would recommend going with the full coilovers. Only in north america will you see them selling each seperately.

Technically, the OEM suspension is a 'coilover' unit. Anytime a shock/strut is inside of the spring, this is defined as a coilover.

To be specific, Teins and such are defined as 'adjustable coilovers'.

that's the point i was trying to make. I don't like information from wikipedia as it may not be correct a lot of times. There are to many words to call it and the universal is Coilover regardless it just being the "full" coilovers or just the "sleeveovers".

Sorry about bringing this back to life. But does anyone run the Skunk2 Pro Series PRO S coilovers? I was planning on getting the so called Skunk2 "sleeveovers", but for $800 I wouldnt mind putting that out for these. Also, will I have to upgrade the struts with these or are they go to go as is?
Coilovers?
Your not a "real" Honda owner.
WTF you must not put coilovers on your car.
Just cut your springs and call it good.
You won't need a camber kit.
If you ain't scrapin your oil pan, you ain't cool.
So if you want to be cool like everyone here.
