Ok, i have an h23a1 tranny
im buying a h23a (vtec) motor

so...the tranny and everything should bolt up perfectly right??

also..about wiring the vtec??
where would i start?
would i need a new ecu?

 

i thought h23a was non-vtec.. H22 is vtec

and yes the H series tranny should bolt up.

 

thts what i thought too but i keep finding them with vtec

 

there is an H23a1 USDM which is NON VTEC and then a JDM H23A which is VTEC like the H22A

 

The trannies will definately bolt up, and for the VTEC stuff, just read the FAQs and look for swapping in H22s. Lots of info...

The H23A is a 2.3 liter VTEC engine from the Euro-R Accord and I have read the Prelude Type-S. The H23A1 is the non-VTEC H23 you're used to seeing here in the states.

OK, same thing except for the names of the trim levels and some little options. I'm pretty sure you guys didn't get the H23 VTEC.

 

 

also, what ecu would i need to run this engine with?

and, with the h23a1 engine harness will i need a different harness or anything???

 

and...what rpm does vtec hit in the h23a??

what rpm does it redline....etc. etc.

 

if that thing doesnt come with and ecu to run it i would just buy a P28 with base from http://www.Phearable.net .

 

The H23A is from the Accord SiR wagon...Found nowhere else as far as I know... and yes the H23A1 tranny will fit.

 

i might be wrong, but didnt that thing only come in auto in the accord wagons? if thats so, you have to make ur own tuned ecu to run it (unless u actually are auto)

 

im almost positive u can run a p13 or an chipped p28 or p06

 

it would probably run just fine on a p13, though tuning it is the best choice.

op: the ecu determines when vtec engages, so that depends on your choice there.
