Default Car stolen, local parts on Ebay: Coincidence?

Browsing Ebay I found this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...wItem

My car was stolen not too long ago in Arizona. So the reasons I am suspicious that this might be from my car:

1.) My car was recovered in Glendale AZ, the same location of the seller for this auction.
2.) My car was stolen with 77,415 miles on it. This gauge cluster has 77,641 miles on it.

Seller claims it came out of a 1998, but mine was a 2001. Is there any difference between the gauge clusters, or is it impossible to tell?

I am not sure if I am being paranoid, or if this is worth looking in to more...

Since the parts are local to you, maybe you can try and meet up with the seller to check out the parts?

if it's for a 00 or 01, it would have an immobilzer icon on it.

Sounds fishy to me. Just ask to set up and take a look at it. Then while your there ask if he has any other parts for sale as well.

The police are not going to go talk to the person who is selling the cluster in till they have hard proof he has stolen parts in his house.

That’s why it’s a good idea for this guy to go check the cluster out and ask him if he has any more ITR parts for sale.

Actually my friend and I wouldn’t mind checking it out......

Noted that the seller has listed and sold lots of honda parts... makes you wonder.

Of course I'm not saying that I have any knowledge of wrong doing by the seller...

Dont go crazy. Plan it out. Set it up with some friends. Try to meet him somewhere and at the very least get his license plate. Or have some friends on standby to follow him home. Hell just call the police and if they have enough evidence they can summons ebay for their ips/info and go from there.

I really thought they are going to go thru all that process for a cluster. Make sure if you do anything at all to plan it out, because if this guy realizes that you’re on to him (if in fact he did steal your car) he will take all the parts out of his house.

So gl

You'd be surprised what they would consider evidence. In this case with the proper proof, its just too much of a coincidence.
