If you upgrade the calipers on a 4-th gen SI model to the 4-th gen VTEC or the ones from the 5-th gen preludes can you still use the SI stock wheels or do you need new ones?
Thanks.

SI and VTEC wheels are the same..........a VTEC is an SI-VTEC. The "S" is the one that came with steelies and hubcaps.
92/93 Heavy CivicSI looking wheels
94-96 Lighter blade style.
So youre fine....

This is not my car so let me see if they have an "S". If they have the steelies and hubcaps would those fit?

Im not sure about that. If its an "S" they may want to dig up some SI wheels. Im pretty sure the "S" steelies are 15" so it shouldn't be an issue.
Just don't let him get talked into expensive rotors or pads.......Parts store rotors@$25 and OEM HONDA PADS form Honda is the way to go.

the steelies are 14" and the wheels for the SI/Vtec are 15". There is barely enough room for the caliper with the 14" steelies when you are running the S/Si brakes, I don't think they will fit over the Vtec brakes

hey guys,

its my car he was asking about. so the 5th gen caliper and rotor upgrade with 4th gen vtec rotors will not have scrapage issues my Si wheels? its a 92 with the heavy Si looking wheels. what is worrying me is the width and if the calipers will require shaving or not, not the diameter, 15" is MORE then enough. i mean, i literally have MM's or space left with my Si caliper, is this caliper any bigger (wider)?

Youre all good. The SI/VTEC wheels fit over my NSX calipers!
