I am finishing up (finally) my LS swap in my CRX and the time has come to buy new tires. I was wondering what brand/size people would recommend as I'm looking to get some decent tires for around $80 max per tire. It's an 89 CRX Si with HX wheels. I plan to use them for daily driving, and prefer an all season tire that will last. I was considering the 195/60/14 Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS Pole Position from TireRack, but wanted to see what other people might suggest...
Wats the weather like out there? I'm guessing since u live in PA it snows or rains alot~ I've never had BF's but I hear good things about them
I assume you need to use the same tires in winter (including occasional snow) as well as the rest of the year. (Based on the fact you're saying you need all-seasons.)
I agree with your idea of using the Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS Pole Position, which is (by far) the best all-season tire available in 14" sizes (and is attractively priced in those sizes, too). However, on a CRX (even one with an LS drivetrain) I would go with 185/60-14 rather than 195/60-14. That's your stock size so you won't have issues like speedometer/odometer error, poorer acceleration, rubbing (unlikely but possible), etc. Buy them by the end of the month and you can get a $75 American Express Award Card as a rebate.
If you don't need to use these in winter, I would get the Yokohama ES100 in 185/60-14.
