Default Thinking about a swap

Right now I have a 98 DX Coupe with I/H/E and Y8 manifold, Injectors and Throttle Body.

I'm thinking about a B18A or B18B Non-Vtec. What kind of difference will I notice?

I had a swap before, I went from a D16Z6 in a VX Hatch to B16A2 and it was a good difference.

I just sold my Turbo stuff so I have about 1000 to play with. I know that's not enough for a swap but I can get as much as I can and keep it in my garage.

I want your opinion. Would it be worth it to get stuff for my D16Y7? I could do Mini me with A6 pistons, ETC.

So bottom line. Should I "hop up" my SOHC or drive the SOHC as is for a couple months and start getting LS parts?

Your opinions are all I need to start getting parts.

Thanks for any input.

Dan

A b18b/a with a gsr/b16 tranny is actually an awesome daily driver setup.

It will be faster than a b16a due to a much better powerband and more torque.

With $1000 you're cutting it close for a swap. You're best bet is to piece together a turbo kit and get a good tune. You can make 220+ whp on just that. Much more impressive than most swaps out of the box.

yeh this dude said it, u could swap it or turbo is really the only way to get real power out of a d16y7.
