bogging on acceleration
i have a 92 civic cx, the problem-- when i accelerate normally or harder the motor bogs and misses, if i press the pedal down gradually then it remains running smoothly it just takes too long to increase speed for highway driving and makes driving with the a/c almost impossible. i am able to drive smoothly on the highway once i am able to maintain a constant speed. i have no check engine lights and my oil and coolant look ok. so where should i start? O2 sensor? MAP? i don't know, and i don't just want to start replacing everything as this is my daily driver/ beater. thank you for your help.
Are you throwing codes, if so, retrieve them to start off, see what the ECU thinks is screwing up. A high load miss can be caused by excess air gap in the cap/rotor assembly, the plugs, and excessive resistance in the primary coil circuit, preventing a full spark charge. Check the maintainence items first, and your codes, and then post.
