d16y8 snapped timing belt!!! bent valves?

if the engine was running when the belt broke you most likely have valve to piston contact. depending on how high the rpm was when it broke MAY determine the damage. i would put it at tdc, put a new belt on it, and do a leakdown test on each cyllinder and you'll know if you bent a valve,or worse.

I have civic 1992 with d16y8 enginge and last few days in highway I have 80km speed and the enging working is stoped and moved the car to mechanices place and we seen the timing belt is snapped because the water pump is broken,, then I bought the water pump an timing belt after that's we put on the stuff on car and then enging starting so soft and with any strang sound ... One of my friend said that's impossible to crash and be break the supapss and never the d series has crashed with snapped timing belt
I thing my mechanic can't to find my enging problem ..because here I live it's only my cars honda and nobody has liking this car so they know nothing about this cars

I think if you can turn the crankshaft through several rotations without removing the spark plugs the valves are not seating and are likely bent.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong!
