NEED HELP! There's something on my paint.
Ok... I posted this in APC but they told me to come here
There seems to be this stuff on my car and I have NO idea what it is. There are tons of tiny brown spots all over my car. My car is white so it's easy to see if you're up close. At first it started on the back of my car, on the hatch. Then I started seeing this stuff all over the car but it's still mostly on the rear [the hatch] with small spots throughout the car's exterior.
I tried washing the crap out of the car, waxing, and I just tried to claybar it. Nothing works. The dots are the color of Rust I guess but this is a brand new car so it's not rust [I guess] and I did manage to take just a few of these dots off... there has got to me hundreds of them. You can't see them until they're maybe 6 inches from your eyes but I notice everything. I couldn't take a picture good enough to show the dots with my old *** a80. I'll try again tomorrow.
Any ideas? Any help would be highly appreciated

Its tough to be accurate without up close detailed pics. Sounds like rail dust to me. Sometimes it can be removed with solvents if it hasn't penetrated the clear. Try an abrasive, aggressive buffing compound. Then try more aggressive techniques from there like light wet sanding, ect. If you try solvent test it on a non visible part of the car first.

Lets assume it was rail dust... Where does that come from and how do I remove it? I'm willing to try whatever.

Small particles of metal dust get on the surface of the car during transport via train. The slightest magnetic charge can attract the particles and allow them to etch into the surface.
Regular automotive grade paint solvent might work, MEK might work also but its very strong and you have to be very careful. Followed up by buffing and or polishing to remove scuff marks.
