runing with out a thermostat? how bad is it?
well the coolant isnt going to be able to properly cool off like it should because it wont be given the proper amount of time in the radiator so you wont have an average coolant temp. I am not sure how bad this is though because my bro just took the thermostat out of his 89 prelude si 4ws and he said it actually ran cooler because the thermostat was stuck before. Well then i guess that if it runs cool it shouldnt hurt the motor but i am not 100% sure on that.
So maybe some more insight on how bad this could be.

running cooler isnt good. it wont let the engine heat up to optimum temp. other reasons aswell but i cant think of them.
if ur car is running hot it could be a lot of different problems... how is your water pump?.. is it good?, what kind of ecu are u using?... is it wired properly?... is the thermostat good? is your fan engaugeing when it is supposed to?....

I live in puerto rico (hotter than hell) and I removed my thermostat today...... It runs a little colder than with thermo, the only thing is that it takes a little longer to warm up.....
remember to use silicon sealant to the thermo housing

dont remove the thermostat! Your engine will constantly be running rich trying to warm up. The stock honda thermostat is 171 degrees, its plenty cool. you should see normal operating temps of 180, the fan comes on at 200. If you want it to stay at 180 get one of those spoon/mugen/buddyclub fan switches they turn on at 180 and keep it there. If its still getting hotter with the fan on your motor is heat soaked and you need a bigger radiator/more fans.
i was runing with out a thermostat for a while, but i notice when i drive around on a hot day, it whould get hot so i would pull over for a lil bit. so i put a thermostat in, but i still wanted it to run cooler, it hasnt got hot since i put the thermostat in though.
i guess i'll get a better fan swith just in case, and im using a 92 radiator w/the ac fan, its small, because i dint have enough room with the normal fan. i'll get a bigger fan too.
