I have a 00 SI and the stock tires size is 195/55r-15, when i bought my car it was already lowered and had 195/50r-15 tires. recently i changed all four tires because they were worn very bad on the insides. I took the car to get balanced and the guy at first told me that i should inflate the tire's PSI to 43psi instead of the recommended 35 in front and 33 in rear by Honda. when he finished aligning the tires said the toe was bad so he fixed it. my question is should i still run 43psi, or go back to stock? my tires are YOKOHAMA AVS ES100 and on the tire it says the max psi should be 44 psi. isn't that bad?

All my Fuzion ZRi tires run at 42psi ... any less and they're too sloshy.

The 35F/33R is for stock tires at 175/65/13 (I believe that's the stock size for a CX).

I'd run your tires around 40-41 psi.

 

Really? That's crazy, I think most passenger tires are 30-35 psi.

Most are but you can run them at whatever pressure you'd like, within reason. I run about 40 for the sake of MPG. Over-inflating your tires won't affect your handling as adversely as under-inflating them.

100% accurate

 

I prefer 40+ for the heck of it. People don't do everything the way "honda wants us to". Honda recommends 5w30 but some people use 10w30... I think your fine with your PSI.

 

yeah 40 is fine but just check the side of ur tires so u knw wats max pressure

 

I have Bridgestone Potenza RE750's, they have a 51psi max. i run them at 45psi just to be safe.

 

it says for the max load the tires should not exceed 44 PSi.

 

You can run up to the max sidewall pressure no problem. It will also help you get better gas mileage with more air in the tires. Car manufacturer's recommendations are more for comfort and nothing else. Hell, my tires max sidewall is 51psi. I run 40-45 all day every day with no problems whatsoever.

 

I just hope you didn't get another set of 195-50-15 again! Because they are the wrong size for your car!

Btw I run 40 all around and its fine. I do it for 2 reasons.

1. better gas mileage
2. for handling purposes

 

yeah i got the 195/50-15 again because if i was to put the 195/55r-15's they would rub on the fenders becuase my car is lowered.

 

I run 40F/35R for more neutral handling. Be aware that tires and/or steering components are more likely to be damaged by potholes at high pressures.
