I want to know how many gears are on a d15b2 transmission honda civic lx 1988

 

manual transmission = 5 speed
automatic transmission = 4 speed

 

alright thanks im upgrading to a 5 speed automatic transmission from a 1992 honda civic lx d15b7 engine will that fit my d15b2 engine

It will bolt onto your engine, but the bolt locations for the transmission mount are different, so it will not be a direct drop-in.

 

ill just modify it to work im pretty sure it will i need a higher top speed can you make it a longer ratio in the gears

 

Yes you can mix and match gears, but I quite highly doubt you'll need more top end.

With a manual transmission you can, he's swapping automatics. OP, it's not worth the headache to swap one for the other, but good luck anyways.
