Default Looking for that sleeper exhaust?

Im looking into getting a new exhaust system and I don't really want to be flashy. I'm looking for something subtle, but will still perform well. The only thing I could think of was the A'PEXi WS. Let me know what you all think. If the WS lacks the performance I will probably go with the N1, but I would like to keep it low key. RSR maybe?

Let me know what you think.

Thanks,
Nate

Can't even see the exhaust, but I guess thats the idea. Is this your car? If so, whats the tone of the SP and how does it feel to drive? Is it a straight thru design?

I really like the look. (That looks just like my car).

I for sure don't want to miss out on performance for appearance so if I have to I will just go with one of the larger straight thru designs.

Its hard to see the exhaust in the pic. In person, it looks REAL NICE. Very sleeper.

As for performance wise, my car is Turbocharged and the exhaust has a NICE deep tone. Not high pitched like those rice cans. At high RPMS, its pretty damn loud. But thats probably because I have no cat convertor and running a straight pipe

And yes, its spray painted, FLAT BLACK. I hate the chrome ****. Attracts cops.

Type R
Apexi WS
Greddy SP
Comptech
RS*R
Thermal R&D
Mugen

when I had my Greddy SP it was pretty quiet and had a deep low throaty tone.. it wasnt that noticeable (Sound) until you stepped on it.. but from the back.. you see the big flat silver muffler and my friends would say their headlights would shine and it would stand out a lot.. it lasted about 3 yrs.. then started blowing composite cubes Lolz.. I still have it in my garage... got a Greddy Evo now..

greddy sp is 60mm

i used to have one, loved the sound, but only lasts about 3-4 yrs.(mine rusted to shitz at the resonator)

now i have ITR which is 57mm. sounds kinda raspy at high rpm tho, but at least cops won't give a u ticket for having an exhaust. (here, its illegal to have anything larger than stock tip and the sound max is 86 db or even less )

ultimate 'Sleeper' mod

"A fake small-bore exhaust can be useful adjunct to fool both police and other road users alike... In this case a monster dump pipe exits the underside of the muffler - but you'll only see that when you take a really close look!"

HAHAHA, that is hilarious. I have an rs*r. The can is black but the tip is bling bling. I like the tone thought, it's not all buzzy and it's not all that loud either.

For real, an ITR exhaust would be the best.

I'm still leaning toward getting the A'PEXi world sport. Does anyone know what size piping it has and is it a straight thru design?

No, it's chambered from what I understand. It was my first choice, but I might go with the comptech catback now, it's straight through.

I was kinda in the same position as you, and if you want a straight thru that looks like the WS, take a look at the Tanabe Hyper Medallion or the Tanabe Hyper Super Medallion(became available 1 month after i bought my non-super ). These are straight thru and look pretty good. Nothing too flashy either.

I really like the way that looks. I'll have to look into those. Anyone know a good Tanabe supplier?

The Apexi WS does lack the performance. If you want real gains you have to get an exhaust with a straight-through muffler, that's just the way it is.
