signs of detonation... how bad?
how much detonation will actually hurt the motor?
i pulled my plugs and i have silver specs on the silver part in the middle of the plug. this was before tuning. i changed plugs on 1&2 and left 3&4 for observation.
after tuning, 1 and 2 is still clean indicating im no longer detonation (at least i dont think so)
my compression tests pre tune was 250,245,250,245. havent checked it again yet.
taking my compression into consideration, do you guys think that my detonation before hurt my motor in some way, shape, or form?

Detonation is what happens in the combustion chamber. What you dont want is pre detonation, thats when its not detonating at the right moment. Its good up until you hear pinging, then that tells you its hitting wrong. This is never good for motors.
so signs of detonation such as specks on the plugs is still "ok" as long as you dont hear pinging (marbles in a can) since thats a sign that something is definitely wrong?

Pre detonation is hard to hear if you havent heard it before. Marbles in can is a good example but sometimes they sound like valve tap, or injector tap as well. Can you take pics of the plugs?
