I would personally recommend using the Type-R swaybar bushing and bushing brackets instead of aftermarket polyurethane bushings. The reason that I say this is because the polyurethane bushings required frequent lubrication to prevent squeaking. Also the Type-R bushings are 5X stiffer than the stock bushings, which is comparable to polyurethane bushings. So you really will not gain anything by using the polyurethane bushings.

I heard a trick a while back to help prevent the need for frequent lubrication. Before installing the poly bushing, you can wrap the area of bar that contacts the bushing with teflon tape. Supposedly, this should ward off squeaking, indefinitely.

I'm sure the ITR stock bushings are more than adequate, though, as Bret mentioned.

I also agree with using the ITR bushings and brackets.

But I have also used the teflon tape trick on Ploy bushings. It worked alright I guess.

Only the ones that squeak.

I have a question about the rear swaybar. I have the ITR rear bar and the bracket or whatever the endlinks connect to is not very sturdy. It looks weak and when you move it around with your hands, it moves very easily. I don't know much about suspensions but is there any reason to put something thicker in its place? I need to take a picture to discribe what I'm talking about but it's dark

Thanks
Aaron

You said "the bracket or whatever the endlinks connect to is not very sturdy. It looks weak and when you move it around with your hands, it moves very easily. I don't know much about suspensions but is there any reason to put something thicker in its place?"

I would be glad to help you out, but I'm not really sure what part you are referring to.

Are you talking about the end links themselves? I noticed that they seem kind of flimsy.

Here's a bad picture of what I was trying to say. I circled it in red. It connects the swaybar to the LCA.

Thanks brett and anyone else that know whats up!

Did you reuse your old ones? I have high mileage like yours and I opted to change out the endlink bushings on mine for new stock ones. When I removed my old swaybar, the old ones were cracked and extremely worn.

yea, i used new bushings. It just seems like that piece in red is kinda weak compared to the ITR rear bar and the LCA. Would it be better to have something stiffer in its place? Just curious?

Yeah I think I committed on that when we were installing my bar. I was like what's up with this flemsy POS. I'll replace mine when it breaks.

i havent done this mod yet, but would it even matter if its flimsy, since all its doing is pushing down on the LCA?

I don't think so either, but if they do break those things are like 5 dollar i think. I am doing mine this weekend.

The Type-R and the rest of the G3 Integras use the same endlink. The only difference is that the Type-R small endlink bushing at the bottom is stiffer than the non-Type-R Integra endlink bushing. I have tried both endlinks on my car and I didn't notice a difference. So I recommend just using the stock endlinks...they are fine .

I would highly recommend buying new swaybar endlink bushings.
