Default eg b16 swap a/c problem

hello all, i have a 1992 civic with a swapped b16. it all runs good so i wanted a/c. since i had the psr bracket i put a gsr compressor in the car and vaccumed it down and charged it with 2 and a half cans of 12oz r134a. when i turn on the system on 4, it dosnt blow cold and the compressor will trip in for a few seconds and then out for about 7 or so seconds the back in again. when i put the a/c on 1 the compressor will trip out and the air will get colder but not as cold as i would expect. i asked some people what to do and they just said put the single cam compressor in but no one ever tells me why. i just figure that a compressor is a compressor whats the problem. anyway. any help will be much appreciated due to the fact that its 100 degrees and raining in florida right now. lol

dont have an idea of the problem of your compressor, but since it is a 92 did your retrofit the r12 to r134a? if you put 2 and a half cans of 12oz that would equal 30oz. normal is between 17.6 to 19.4 oz. i have heard if there is to much freon it will not cool better.

if the system holds vacuum and there isn't any leaks i would suggest that you evacuate the system, put the correct amount of charge in and then check it before you start swapping compressors etc.

i understand all this but the probelm i have is that the compressor wont run long enough to cool , it only runs for like 10 seconds max and then trips out and then about 5-7 seconds later it kicks back in and then out for another 10 sec. what could cause this? does the gsr compressor pump more freon than the single cam compressor?

i have the single cam compressor and all just missing the condensor line. what should i do?

with to much freon in it I don't think it will run longer than ten seconds safety feature I believe
