Hey. I have a 94 accord lx and my car just recently began making a terrible knocking noise coming from the valve cover and when i revved it up the sound changed into a hitting noise and got extremely loud. I have now taken the cylinder head off and the valves and everything look fine. What could be the problem? Thanks.

 

Are all of your spark plugs intact with no debris in the cylinders (is there any scarring on the cylinder walls or pistons)? How's your valve lash? Make sure there's no excess wear/play in your cams as well. Did you check the compression before taking off the head? All things to check out...
