Default Interior Light Problem - Bugging Me!!!

Alright got home from the gym last night and noticed my interior lights didnt come on when I turned the key off ( 99 Sedan ) so I tried to turn on the dome manually and no dice nor did it work when I opened the door. The funny thing is, is that the light by the Rear View mirror works fine. I have pulled almost every fuse and nothing is blown. Does anyone know what the interior lights are tied into? Oh and yes I know there is an interior light fuse in the engine bay and that is for the light that works by the rear view. Here is my fuse box cover for EK. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

lol, in this circusstance your question has already been answered.... so instead of someone making a new thread he decided to use this one, which is alright imo. concentrated information ftw.

Do you have a stock radio?

For the '96-'98 Civics, the dome light and keyless will stop working if you remove the stock radio. The dome light can be fixed with wiring (how-to probably on this site), but the keyless brain is on the radio so the radio must be there for it keyless to work.

do u mean w/o the oem radio the dome light will stop working entireley? becuause i guess his will work just not when set on open door activation.... and what do u mean keyless... thee beeping when the door is open?.... i think u need to more specific in your posts.

It will just stop working.

Keyless is what some Civics have where the doors can be locked and unlocked remotely. It's factory on some trims like the EX and Si.

I don't need to be more specific. I'm very clear. You just don't understand what I'm talking about. That's not my fault. Most people on here understand what keyless is (LOTS of cars come with it) and when I say "the dome light won't work" it's not condtional. It just means it won't work.

She's saying the dome light is integrated into the wiring mapping of the radio, without the radio, the circuitry of the dome light ends. Thus why on many aftermarket alarm/deck installs the OEM radio must be tucked back into the dash or a new loom must be made to retain Keyless entry and your dome light.

New wiring will fix the dome light, but not the keyless. The keyless brain is actually a part of the radio. If you remove the radio, the keyless brain is gone and now the signal cannot be recieved from the remote. Therefore, the keyless wont' ever work unless a new radio/brain is installed.
