Gsr Q's
If i run a GSR block and Type-R pistons...
What Head and what connecting rods should i run with it???
And what kind of compression do people get with the suggested set-ups??

Search. If you don't already have a head I'd use the b16 head. Use stock gsr rods. Google a compression calculator. Edit: Because I'm less lazy than you here's a compression calculator that took me all of 10 seconds to find. http://www.c-speedracing.com/h...c.php

i think the GSR actually has smaller combustion chamber volume than the B16/ITR head. So on that theory, the GSR head would actually be higher compression. Not sure if im right on that, though.

that is true with a b16 vs a gsr head youd get more compression out of the gsr assuming youre using the same pistons.
no matter which one you decide to go with, one head is not significantly better than the other. so get whichever you can find at a lower price. on a built head both b16 and gsr heads can give great results.

look if you do a gsr block i highly recomend you use civic type r pistons and a b16 head. that is the best way to go if you want high compression. my friend did that and he is doinf 7.90 in a 8th of a mile in an eg.

rest of the setup?? im not calling BS but your friend must have more than an OEM build to do a 7.9 in the 1/8...

for ****'s sake search please. you're not the first, and definitely not the last, person to ask this same exact question. honda-tech is more than just the civic forum.
Eh mate you know what if thats your answer for everything then you should just go sit down or something...you think that every person on this forum is retarded. everytime someone asks a question that you cant figure out you tell them to search and you know what i bet you 80/100 people do search and guess what i did...between the forums Zealwreks and google ive put in about 3hrs of research before i asked this question. So thank You to everyone that helped me out... and was courteous in there responses
hes telling you to search mainly because all of this information has been covered many times before. some people just arent good at searching. search "b16 gsr head" and i guarantee you that youd find almost all the information given in this thread
you should also post what kind of budget you are on and what your goals are so we could recommend the parts that would be needed for your goal

Im trying to get specific information about Civic Type R pistons and would it be better to Keep the GSR head or the B16 in terms of clearance and performance with the Civic Type R Pistons
due to the smaller combustion chambers of the gsr head, the CTR pistons will get you more compression as opposed to the b16 head. from what i know the b16 head flows a bit better than the gsr head though. either way you go, both heads have pretty much the same potential when built. go with whichever you can find thats cheaper. note that if you get a gsr head youre going to have to get an ecu that will run the secondaries.
not to worry about the GSR head i already have.... im running just a stock GSR as it is right now lol i just want to make sure i have everything right so i dont have my car in my garage for too long
