Default break up in high rpm ignition problems can someone help please!!!!

i went to go get my car tuned today at the whip factory and we are having problems in the high rpms......it wont rev past 7000-7500ish rpm. it pulls fine until then and just hits brick wall. because my car is tucked and im using bulkhead connectors on the firewall we thought that it might have to do with the sheilding on the dizzy wires, also because we think that some electrical noise was messing up the dyno. but i went home and reran new grounded sheilded wiring straight from the dizzy to the ecu and still no luck. could something else be causing this break up or could it maybe be the tune somehow? hes tuning it with neptune and set the rev limiter to 8800 and double checked everything to make sure nothing else was causing the problem. we also installed new wires. im totally lost and out of ideas, anything would be helpful right now.

20 seems like a pretty close gap to me, but I don't know if it would only affect it in the high rpm range

yea the coil was fine.....its just weird because the car runs like a champ until it hits 7ish grand then it feels almost like a 2step or something.

Well if the coil was working before, it probably means the wiring for it etc is fine. I would try a new coil and open the gap up a little bit on those plugs.

thast normally when u know the coil is bad. aslo if u are using a msd 6a or something that can also effect your signal.

change the coil.

but it could be the dizzy as well. btu deff sounds like ignition not plug gap or anything.

if it were plugs it would just run like *** not fall on its face & buck on the dyno

If the coil and cap are old I would replace them just to be sure, it couldn't hurt anything and you will have fresh parts. I'm not sure how much wiring is involved with swapping in a different dizzy when you are using an external coil, but if it isn't hard I would try switching to a known good dizzy to see if the ignitor is the problem
