My boss has a 2001 Acura MDX with navigation and he wants to upgrade to the 2003 software because apparently the 2001 doesn't have a map for Canada. I was just wondering if anybody had any info on this. If its possible to upgrade the software without replacing the whole system. Or do I need to upgrade the whole system. Or do I just need to tell him to get an aftermarket navigation system installed instead.

Any info would be great.

 

a lot of times the 03 disc will not work in older cars. in the navi book there should be a 1-800 nubmer to call for any updated discs.

 

depends if the 01 has the hard disc or the DVD.

I thnk it has the DVD and in that case you can upgrade to a newer disc through Honda that may include the great north.

if its a hard disc, then the units are NOT interchangable. it would be cheaper to by a new one...... and less of a pain in the ***
