Most likely it's a grounded speaker wire putting the deck into protect mode. Test the speakers individually with all the other wires besides power/ground/acc disconnected.
so i tried making sure none of the wires were touching anything covered them up and just tried each speaker set differently still no sound

try putting the stock one back in and see if it plays. You could have gotten a duud from the factory. It happens.

did you use a aftermarket harness? whats the make is the radio? It could be the cell phone mute wire touching. Did everything work fine from the begining?
well i used the harness that comes off the HU the one that came with it..
i mean i connect just the power wires(batt, acc, ground) power comes on so i try taking the wire from the HU and connecting them straight to a speaker and still nothing

I have had quite a few internal amps on the pioneers go bad. But thats not the point. Do you have a multi meter? if so test for continuity to ground on all the speaker wires.

lol, there's a lot wrong with pioneer but I wont get into personal opinion/experience here
turns on + no sound = bad internal amp 90% of the time.
if its new, just take it back and exchange it.

I call BS. I've been selling Pioneer for 10 years and I'll see one bad outta the box a year.. maybe. And why would you have a stack of them? Don't you warranty? It's not like you take them back from customers after warranty period.

I dont sell them.. I don't warenty them... I just pull the peices of crap out when they blow up and put something good in thier place, like alpine. Some of thier peices are nice but Pioneer does have a huge problem with thier internal amps... They may have setted that recently but for the past few years if a pioneer isn't working it is the internal amp.

volume?...jkjk
make sure the connections are still tight and not loose...i remember when i hooked up my deck and the wires were loose, only one speaker as working...take off the tape/shrink wrap/twisties and make sure its got a good "connection"...
on the other note, you run a shop and you cant get it to work?
good luck

at CC we never had any problems with pioneer or most radios for that matter. if there was no sound, 80 percent of the time it meant a speaker was grounding out. sony has a neat feature where it would give u an error message and you'd kno it was grounding out... and it would even tell you which speaker it was. but as said... there's still a chance that ur pioneer deck is no good.. and the older the unit is the higher the chance of that being true.

word to that
if you have memory, acc, and ground hooked up....make sure that if you are testing the speaker leads off the deck that you don't have all the other speaker wires coming off the deck stripped already. lot of times if you have all the speaker wires stripped already...if they are touching either each other or touching the chassis of the radio itself the radio shuts off the speaker outputs and you get no sound. so try one pair of wires at a time...
white and white/black stripe...
grey and grey/black stripe...
green and green/black stripe...
violet and violet/black stripe...
so basically make sure that if you're trying to test the white pair of wires....make sure that the other pairs (or any for that matter) of the speaker wires you are not currently trying to test the speaker with are not touching bare wire strands of another wire or the radio's chassis.
