I have an 89 CRX Si. How do I wire the cooling fan to a toggle switch in the cockpit? Any pics?

 

Why? Just use the factory thermostatically controlled switch.

 

Cut the clip or after it. One wire to ground one to a 12V constant or a 12V only @ idle (you can run the wire into the cabin and just wrap in around a fuse and plug the fuse back in, or use one of the empty areas on your cabin fuse box and just add a solderless connector and plug it in. Finding the right one {idle or constant} all depends on which connection you use on the box. You may want to do it on the idle phase, because if not you will probably leave it on..."past experiences". But why do you want to wire it to a toggle? In works with your engine to find out the best time to kick in, that way the motor heats up faster and then stays @ the correct temperature. I would suggest you leave it plugged to the stock harness unless you need the extra cooling. GL and also remember if you run the ground wire to 12V and vice versa, your fan will spin the opposite direction. GL

 

if you want your fan to operate normally and have a toggle switch its easy!

on the back of the block there is a coolant temp sensor with two wires: Yellow/Green and Black.
Tap into the Yellow/green wire and run the added wire to a switch inside the cabin. the other side of the switch, hook up to a good ground. Done.
This setup will allow your fan to operate normally and come on at temp as well as allow you to turn it on when you please. It only works with your key in the ignition so you cant forget to turn it off too.

Do I need a certain amperage switch?

 

the way it works is by manually activating the coolant temp switch. it should be low voltage and amperage because it is only a sensor, and not the fan motor. I have been using a normal 12V switch for a couple years now with no problems.
