Distributor-less

What are the various ways to run distributor less?
I'm planning to change to a mitsubishi dizzy in the next week, and i'm thinking what are the other ways which i can go?
Any suggestions will be good, thanks

short of redesigning the entire ignition system not much. Gm does it with coil packs
