Default question about pistons for D series

If I were to get a set of forged wiseco pistons yielding a 9:1 CR in a y8 would that CR be lower, the same or higher if I put them in a z6? I tried using a CR calculator, but it just confused the hell out of me

a y8 head has less combustion chamber cc's so it'll be slightly lower in a z6

yup, Y8 head is like 34cc, Z6 is like 42cc...somthing like that so it will be lower CR. that just means MORE BOOOST!!!!

that's what I was thinking but I wasn't sure if compression height would change or not on my z6....here4's the CR calc I was using:
http://www.zealautowerks.com/dseries.html

I've been told it's accurate to within .2 of a CR

to get semi-accurate numbers from that you'll need the compression height of the piston and dome cc's. compression height is from the piston, it wont change from engine to engine.

ahh I see. well dish is 11.6 and comp[. height is 1.154"....going to go convert the " to mm and see what the calc. says \

EDIT: came out to about 8.5:1 I think I'll get them

9:1 pistons for a d16y8 will be 8.72:1 in a d16z6

just use 9:1 d16z6 pistons in your d16y8. Low compression is for wussies
