z6 pistons in y8 motor, same compression. ??
I have a set of 8.5.1 comp pistons for a d16z6, if i put those in a d16y8. is it still the same compression.
for some reason i thought the stroke was a little different on a y8 motor.
any input..
thanks

I could answer your question, but I'll just give you the link to this ultra-useful website:

if i messed around with the site correctly, it looks like it will increase the compression of the piston due to the difference in the heads.
about 1/2 point.
and on srp's site the y8 pistons are 9.0.1,
wonder if it's the same piston

yeah the y8 head has smaller quench areas than the z6 head thereby making the comp. higher
