Default Mugen RSX

Looking into the mugen replica kit for the rsx, do you think its a good idea to go with a replica and what is the best manufactior to buy from, im staying within a budget with the car becasue ill be rebuilding the car all at once.

well if you're going to be doing performance parts for the motor then why go the "looks" route especially if you're on a budget. IMO that mooogen replica looks just like crap but that is my honest opinion.

just stop being cheap and dont worry about building your car quick just take your time with it and buy good parts i just dont get why people would rather rush their car and buy crappy parts then to just wait a while and save up for the good stuff i used to think to omg i gotta be fast i gotta be fast but who the hell cares im taking my time now and my car runs way better than my other buddys dc5 with a bunch of crappy ebay parts

I built my last car on ebay and had no problems but i knew what i was doing i also didn't buy cheap crap.

Also i gotta be fast and yes i gotta be fast but doesn't mean i'm rushing my ****. I'm taking my time buying the A+ stuff and making sure i'm doing it right. Everything i do on my car is mainly for performance anyways. I'm not a "looks" kinda guy. i love my **** to look stock and woop someones ***. mwhahahaha.

For the other guy i'd go with what you want to go with.. i'd say perfromance first but it's your decision as other people say looks.. but if you like show and no go.. up to you

If your not going to buy the real mugen stuff don't even bother. Buying replica **** is like comparing Sex to Jacking off. Its just not the same.

nothing wrong with a replica if the product is good
"mugen" is a brand name
granted that they do produce fine products
if i pay 1/3 of the price for virtually the same thing, i would rather save the extra cash
not everyone wants to spend $1200 for a mugen carbon fiber hood
most are just fine with the replica

Its night and day difference. You get what you pay for. If you dont have the money to blow yeh a replica is great but It'll more than likely break. And you'll also probably have to pay extra to get it to fit. The Mugen stuff fits perfect from them period. Its super high quality FRP. This has been debated before if u wanna WASTE your money waste it. Mugen IS an INVESTMENT. If u try and sell a knockoff down the road u may get 1/3 the original price. The real **** 9/10 of the price more than likely. MF10s went for how much 500 a pop Brand New they go for 3500 used now lets do the math 1500 is 175% the original price. Not saying a DC5 lip or bumper would do the same but a set of Rotas wont.

thats why i stated above that it depends on the product
i didn't say that all of mugen reps are top quality
there's a guy that sell them from canada that is very good quality (at least from the 50+ people that has reviewed it, not a single negative response)
seeing that your a mugen *****, you frown upon the replicas
and that's fine
we all have different tastes and budgets

To be perfectly honest Ive bought the replica **** and its ****, and have learned my lesson. I cant see spending $ on fake **** anymore. Would you buy the OBX LSD for your tranny? No need to respond either way but The whole is the sum of its parts.

What's the point in 'upgrading' your car if you put inferior components on it? It's like wearing a K-Mart brand Ralph Lauren shirt with the fake polo horse on it. You really wanna be that guy?

The RSX was a $25K car. If you don't have the cash to do it correctly, then why bother at all? Knock-off stuff looks cheap and generic IMO, and you can certainly tell when something is not top-shelf or OEM quality. Mugen is both.

Do your motor work first. That's more important right now.

Then you can save up and get the real Mugen kit.

everyone buys whatever they want no matter how everyone words it
yes, of course authentic > rep
i'm saying that its not everyone's main concern is to have "jdm" or "the real thing"
most just want the image or the function of that product at a discount price
i mean, whats the rota : spoon wheels in ratio that you see the public own?
not saying you guys are wrong
its just different people have different goals

i dunno ive seen some pretty good quality knock offs out there. For example, i had an EG civic and purchased the depot fogs.....the closeness was uncanny to the oem ones (flame suit on)....they were half the price of oem ones, i held the oem stanley fogs which a friend had next to the replicas and they looked fine. I had no issues whatsoever. Ive also purchased a great quality replica spoon lip which i was extreemly happy with for the same vehicle. I can understand wanting the real deal, thats awesome, but i wouldn't pay some of the outragous prices people want for certain body parts new. If the part was used maybe at the right price. Take a look at the Jdmshit.com site, their stuff is pretty good quality...they don't have the mugen though. On the other hand i would only put real deal tried and true parts on my motor, brakes and suspension because your safety depends on that. Good luck with your decision.....in the end its what is important to you.

ok, im not trying to build my whole car all at once just the body and not with a bunch of ebay specials, i know there will be differences in the fitment with the knock vs the fitment, i heard the duraflex stuff Extremedimensions is better then other aero companies , ive worked with it before but ive never seen it for the rsx, as for building my engine, thats a whole other story. presonally i like the mugen aero parts for the rsx, everyone has there OP. i just wanted some feedback if anyone as worked with a knock off vs. the real. thanks for the comments guys.
