Default #670 Theft update #3.

Well, after being stripped in my driveway on Feb 22nd, the car was taken to Acura to be repaired. It was broken into AGAIN while at acura and the stereo and cd changer were taken. The insurance company took all the locks out of the car and have left it sitting in the lot ever since. Today, my Fiance' GSRgrrl was at the dealership getting some work done on her car..And noticed someone has stolen the taillights now too!

Pretty soon the whole things going to be gone!

(Before I get flamed, I can't pick up the car. And Acura refuses to keep it stored inside.)

Do you have any further legal ramifications...as I was told that they were surfing the boards here...

it's acura's responsibility to keep the cars on their lot secured, if they are being broken into, then they are liable because it's on their property. don't put up with that ****. tell them to replace that **** or press charges man.

Well, seeing as how this theft DEFINITELY occurred after they took the locks out of the car(leaving it completely unsecured in a open parking lot), I certainly don't see there being a problem proving GROSS NEGLIGENCE.

Yes. I am being investigated.
Allied hired a "Specialist" to look at my car and determine if it had been broken into.
Their "Specialist" removed my door locks and hatch lock (cutting all attached wires 4 inches short of the plugs) scratched and dented just about everything he touched, and left the car unsecured, and with big holes where the parts removed used to be..allowing all the dirt/rain in.

After doing all of this, he determined that there was NO signs of forced entry anywhere. He said they didn't pick the locks, couldn't have opened the hood through the hole in the bumper, and that there was no evidence of a slim jim being used on the car. See the following ARCHIVED post about that:https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=84801

Therefore, Allied spent the last meeting I had with them Asking me about whether or not I had tools, if I knew how to remove the parts that were stolen, If I had ever previously removed those parts, If I had recently rented any storage units, ETC.

This is for the Investigator how he thinks he had something to do with the thief of his car and parts. I am a owner of a ITR and proud of it and I'm sure that 99.9% of the people here on this message board will back this up. "F ck all the theives, and those who want to buy stolen parts for there car."

Hope this will help you decide on who is to blame Mr. Investigator. And by the way why don't you hang out with someone who owns one of these fine cars and see how many peeps take a look and actually follow us and rev on us and also start making phone calls as soon as they spot an ITR.
It would make for an interesting report to give back to your Co. and you would know why its made the #1 stolen car.

Have a good day sir and log on if you are a car nut like the rest of us...

Does the 'expert' realize you can just bend the window frame back and hit the doorlock switch. Duh

I know what they're going to ask me first during the next meeting....
#1 "Do you have the tools required to remove the taillights from your car?"
#2 "Have you ever removed your taillights?"
#3 "Would your taillights fit your fiance's car?"

this is amazing. Tell the insurance to contact me and they can get a mouth full. Dealing with lawyers, insurance, etc... is no prob. I'm just glad I'm with USAA who always trusts their customers. If I were you I would have a investigator go after their investigator or the company to make sure everything is up to date and legal. Also I would contact OSHA and report their company or the investigator firm and have them checked out. Also contact the Silicon Valley Manufactoring group and talk to Sal or Chris and report that you feel that their place of business is not comfirming to CA laws. Also contacting the ACLU is a good idea (for names of contacts let me know) as well as checking on the police report (if taken) and the paper work that they are doing. Most lawyers you hire are very very shady on going after insurance companies. Why? Insurance companies are the last people to mess with. Its like messing bouncing a check to the DMV or to the IRS! lol
Let me know how it goes. lol
