For what?
Anything nearly close to daily or on the street I wouldn't recommend.

you can't go wrong with cobalts, really
i used my GT-Sports on the street, but they are hella squeeky. it doen;t bother me too much, and its a really aggressive street pad/great intro track pad
i'd recommend OEMs and switching those up for street use
sorry if this didn't make any sense, i just had my wisdom teeth pulled this moring and am on the magic pill
vicodin FTW

Not the XR 2's they are a track pad only they won't have the proper initial bite for daily and street use, they would be dangerous. After proper bedding/breaking in they take at least one hard braking zone to get to proper temperature. After that though they are incredible, no fade what so ever.
The old GT VR's I used to play with on the street but they feel different than the XR2's.
I used the old GT sports on the street and autocross with VG results in the past, so I'd suggest their new GT sport compound.

when you say "cook" what do you mean?
KVR and EBC are junk as far I'm concerned.
What type of tires are you using? A more aggressive pad with shitty tires won't make you stop any better.
Exactly what application are you "cooking" these aforementioned pads? Street?

when i mean cook after a few runs the brakes start to fade. And they did not last long. Suspension is just TEIN SS with braces, tires are RT -615 215/40 R17.
Car weights in at 2600-2700 lbs
Im just looking for a good pad other then OEM

I am making 400+whp with my R and used the old version of GT Sports on the streets (which I already mentioned above) and they work perfectly fine. There is at least 75% pad life left. They do not dust as much as the new compound and I had virtually ZERO squeaking. The only reason I switched to the new compound GTSport is because I wanted fresh pads for Expo at VIR.

Highway runs..... well make sure you don't get any of those track only pads. Brakes never get hot enough on highways so track pads would suck.
Get Cobalt GT Sport and have fun on the highway.....

GT-Sports FTW!!!
I used the old compound and am currently on the new compound. I have no complaints, they do dust and squel but its a sacrifice your going to have to make with aggresive pads.

and like I said above more pad isn't always the answer, and adding higher temp fluid doesn't seem to be a neccessity, but whatever you want to spend money on is your business.

take it to the track. If you're fading brakes on the highway you are driving in excess of the speed limit by more than a few MPH and are driving like a dangerous retard.

we just do roll onswith no other cars around . Were not speeding and weaving in and out of traffic lol . Track lol nearest track is 1.5 hours away and i think i would get better traction on a dirt road. Ok ill give the GT sports a try

Don't know what a "roll on" is but it sounds like street jackassery which will bite you in the *** eventually.

So you're fading brakes or you think you are fading brakes at legal posted road/highway speeds? Then sir you have some more serious issues and I don't think pads alone are your main concern. You should go over your entire brake system, check for trouble codes, flush fluid, service all four corners, etc.

So what, it's the correct environment for pushing your car and get this, you might actually learn how to handle your bucket without putting other drivers and the flora and fauna at risk. And don't whine about 1 1/2 hours away, many of us just came back from Expo, for me was a 9 hour trip one way. 1 1/2 hours? that's ***** games.

It's worth pointing out that most pads fade the first or second time you get them really hot (like on the street or in a hard panic stop on the highway). They call this "green pad syndrome". You can avoid this somewhat by following the proper bedding procedure. In any case, after you get them really hot a couple of times, good pads shouldn't fade at all.
It's still not clear from your posts whether this is for street use or for the track. For street use, I wouldn't get track pads, for all kinds of reasons - poor bite when cold, lots of noise and dusting, etc. For the track, those things don't matter, and what matters is their grip when hot.
The new Cobalt pads, including the new GT Sport and the XR2, XR3, etc, are very good track pads, but I think they're not really suitable for the street, due to excessive noise and the need for warmup. It's too bad, because the old GT Sport was my favorite pad in the world, but they're not making it any more. (They're developing a streetable performance pad but they don't expect it to be out till the end of the year at the soonest.)
Because I'm too lazy to change pads before and after track sessions, I don't want to put up with squealing pads on the street, and I don't mind giving up a bit of ultimate performance in exchange, I want to use the most aggressive pad I can that doesn't squeal and still works when cold. I liked the old GT Sport, but they don't make them any more. I'm going to try the Hawk HP Plus, which was a pretty good choice on my other car, with the hope that they don't squeal badly (if they do, I might try the Hawk Performance Ceramic next).

Ok no offense I know what you are saying. No were in this post does it say question about suppose street racing. Our track we have here is the worst track. after about 60 feet there is a nice drop on to a pot holed track. the shut down lane hammer the brakes and stay out of the ruts cause its bumpy and a very short shut down lane.
I do highway pulls with other cars at like 2am . Stright line no cars side by side roll on.
I use this car as a daily driver on base. On the weekends I do some drag racing at the TRACK , hit up the hills, Im going to try some lapping.
Im looking for a brake pad for maily street use. I do not want to use OEM i had bad luck with them. I did brake them in properly.
Just curious on what pads to use and looks like i will try the COLBOLT GT sports

You're talking about the DRAGSTRIP, not the TRACK. When we're talking about using the brake pads on the TRACK, we're talking about the TRACK, where you use the brakes over and over again every lap. NOT the DRAGSTRIP, where you use the brakes once at the end of each run.

Oups sorry for the mix up. I use the car at the drag strip . Im gonna try and get up to shannonville to do some lapping days. or calabogi this year.
Ill try the pads out and see how they far out
