What's up guys. Long time HT member but recently have come to where I can afford the car I really always wanted.
Just curious where you guys came across your cars? I'd like to get one from an enthusiast as opposed to some kid who didn't take care of it.
I've gone the usual routes, autotrader, local forums etc. Just curious if you guys had a particular site where one might come across a well cared for specimen.

Saw mine on ebay. It was semi-local so I went to check it out.
The R I was originally going to buy was for sale at a private dealer near my home. The day I went to pick it up it was stripped. Lucked out though because it wasn't in that good condition.

Totally agree with you. I found mine at an Acura dealership who posted it on autotrader.com. But definetly check it out, I got so excited when I finally found mine that I didn't fully inspect it. Luckily the things I found wrong with it later weren't major and the car just needed a little TLC. Had I known about HT back then I would have gone on here first to buy one from a person who was an ethusiast.

Autotrader... I had been keeping an eye open for years, and I saw one only 4 hours away, nice condition, mildly modified, and the production number was the same are my local area code... So two days later, it was mine.
Best purchase ever.

From the acura dealer, I actually signed all paperworks before ever driving it since I had drove my buddy's dads R, it had 8/10 of a mile, they got it from another acura dealer in chicago and put it on a truck and drover it down to st louis. It was the 3rd best day of my life (marriage, son are tied for 1 and 2)
Brandy-new in December, 1999 from Performance Acura in Chapel Hole.
I had deposits in at three other dealerships, and Performance let me order one. Turns out the guy who had a depost on the black car they had decided on yellow, so I got that one.
