Default cat converter

are the catalytic converters for a 94-97 the same as for a 98-01. im pretty sure they arent, but every single ebay auction for them says they are. where can i get a bolt up test pipe that will definately fit my 99 ls?

does this bolt pattern look right to you for a 99?

the reason im asking is because i already got screwed once on ebay when i bought a one and it didnt fit. the bolt pattern was a little off and it was too short...

All 94+ LS cats are the same length and have the same flanges. The only difference is the second O2 bung on the OBD2 cars.

If you're concerned with fitment issues, I'd avoid the cheap eBay products.

actually obd2 cat bolting is different. the cat bolts straight on my 00 gsr and on my old 95 gsr it bolted side ways.

hey im selling the testpipe that was custom made for me at an exhaust shop and it should bolt up to your car. mine was a 1997 ls. if u are interested lmk. i will measure the length for u if u want assurance. sucks that the ebay one didnt fit

p.s. all the parts i had on the car was stock and it fit, i later got parts that were bolt on. so bolt on header and exhaust and fit perfect with the test pipe.

Because he's talking about the difference between a '00 GS-R and a '95 GS-R, which use completely different exhaust manifolds.

There's really no mystery here. The ITR, '94+ LS, and '00-'01 GS-R all have cats that are the same length with the same flanges. Purchase one designed to fit that application and you should not have any problems.
