Default Changing out hub and spindal and AXLe NEED HELP **

ok. so on friday my car started to make a loud noise on the fwy.

got it home, and realized that both cv boots on my axle were ripped. both of them.

so i went and got myself a new axle, but while i was changing that out. i saw a bunch of little shards of metal everywhere. My wheel bearing was shot to hell also.

so now i have both new axles. and new hub and spindal and trying to put it back on my car.

i can get the top ball joint connects and set. but the bottom one is off by like a half an inch. im thinking i didnt get the axle all the wya into the half shaft.
here is a picture of how much the axle is into the half shaft.

DOes this need to go in more?

thx for any help

-Brandon

Try putting the bottom in first.

there my be one of 2 things wrong. either you got the wrong half shaft (too long) or when installing the new half shaft the inner joint cam appart.

if the inner joint comes appart the boot may not come off so it may look like its together when its not.

ok found the problem. this was a rebuilt axle. well the re-built it wrong.. the cylinder that goes in from the axle to half shaft was to short and didnt allow the axle to go in completely.

so i had to work some magic.

i got the old cylinder from the broken cv boot axle. swapped them out and POOF it works!!

Wo0t!

nice quit drving now!!! well i dont Here any grinding noises anymore so
