Default Alternator issues

At idle my car runs fine, but as soon as i rev the battery lgiht comes on. WTF? So i stop and go and this is constant. Get out the dvm and i have 13 volts at idle and the battery is fine, all is hooked up. Rev up the the car and im getting 17 volts @ 2k rpms. Im thinking this is an alternator issue. I have a autozone reman (2nd replacement) With only 10k miles on it.
Im getting sick of pulling these pos out and going to the zone. Can i rebuild this with new oem parts and have better luck?

Any other ideas? TIA

Hmmmm...could be the alt regulator? Seems weird that you would have gotten two bad ones in a row...did they test it for you before selling it. I just did one for my g/fs civic, and asked them to test the reman one before I took it home. They ought to be able to at least tell you if it's functioning OK from the store. If it is, then you can start trouble shooting something else like bad/shorted wires.

BTW, are you blowing the alt fuse either under the dash or under the hood?

Na no fuses nothing else, i checked the helms and all it says is dont let the voltage get over 18. My car was running way way rich 10-11 afrs at cruise, so maybe a influx of excess voltage would cause this?

with a good alternator you should read 14.4 volts at idle.

They prolly put them back on the shelf, and rotate them. lol

naw, seriously, so far I've had good luck with axles, atls, and misc. parts from autozone. Sounds like you are having some bad luck.

Ouch! I get to keep fixing things on my car that the last owner f-ed up, lol. Plus the tires I had a shop put on recently...the lugs were torqued down too tight and marred one of them so bad it won't come off normally, now I get to mess with that

Someday...I tell myself...someday I will get to do something fun, hehe.

But I digress....
