Default 01 Civic LX

Ok. I know I'm probably gonna sound dumb to everybody on here who has been doing this for awhile, but I'm just now finally getting enough money so I can start doing this so I just have some questions. First of all I've looked through this whole thing and everyone is always talkin bout ex models on civic. Well, I have a lx sedan so my question is when it comes to swappin engines and all that is there any difference in it. I know I'm lookin at the K20A type R engine for my car, but I just wanted some specs. for it, like the hp and torque i'll get out of it and all that before i got it and to make sure it does fit sedan models too. Again I'm sure this is going to sound dumb, but better safe than sorry so if anyone could just tell me that would be great.

It'll fit your car just fine.

Do a little research bud. The Intake/Exhaust manifolds are on opposite sides of the engine. Not to mention the throttle bodies are different diameters.

D17:
Exhaust manifold front
Intake manifold rear

K-series:
Exhaust manifold rear
Intake manifold front

I figured that was gonna be the case cant get one thing without having to change another thing. I foudn a site that sells jdm engines and it has the k20a series engine for $5500 and it comes with everything with like the tranny, the ecu, and all that stuff so i'll prolly go with them. I just know i'm not gonna try to do all that by myself when it comes to puttin it in so i dont end up f-in somethin up

Just to let you know, that ECU won't work in your car, without a re-flash.

You want to do a swap, and re-flash is a new term to you?

Bud, you may want to start jumping into some serious research, before you get in over your head.

A re-flash is where Honda/Acura (or any company really) resets the information on your Engine's Computer.

oh i know what you're talkin bout just never used that term before. my bad. Yea thats one of the reasons i'm not gonna be like most people who aren't too familiar with the whole engine swapping thing and try to do it myself. More than likely I will either take it to a shop to do it for me. not because i wouldn't like to learn to do it on my own, but because i would rather have people who are experienced with it workin on my car instead of me trying to do it and messin it up really bad.
