Default OIL PAN! in need of help!

I recently found out that my oil pan drain plug was stripped out from the previous owner of my 1996 Honda Civic EX Vtec. I was wondering if it were at any way possible to weld the stripped drain plug whole shut and tap a new one right next to it to save the pan and save some money in buying a new one! Please any help is appreciated! thanks!

You can just attach a new nut, in place of the old too

The hole is stripped not the plug, and I don't want to buy a new one so is there a way to fix it?

just weld a nut on it, but do a good job so it doesn't leak. You could fill the hole too if you have a wire welder. But it will drill like a sob. Welds are very hard man, just weld a new nut.

dude, that's to much work. go to the parts store, there is a special plug just for situations like this. works great, i used it on my old d15.

this is the simplest solution to your problem,

if you don't want to use this then do it the right way and replace your pan.

Cant you read?
I have repeated myself like 4 times now
You need to weld on a new nut! You cannot tap the pan - it will rip out.
Even if you wanted to do that, thinking it would work correctly, I told you the thread size/pitch right off the bat

You dont seem capable enough to fix this the right way w/o changing the pan

Go to the parts store and get what ed keeps suggesting instead<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by philosofy1 &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">this is the simplest solution to your problem,
