91 CRX HF WITH DX HUBS.....WHICH IS BEST BRAKE UPGRADE FOR B16???
HEY GUYS, I HAVE A 91 CRX HF WITH A JDM B16A. OF COURSE I HAD TO CHANGE HUBS TO FIT NEW AXLES SO I GOT A PAIR FROM A 88 CRX DX. I WANT TO DO A BRAKE UPGRADE. WHAT SHOULD I GO WITH CONSIDERING FITMENT ON THE 88 CRX DX HUBS?????? ANY SUGGESTIONS WOULD HELP
The best and cheapest way to go is good rotors (Brembo blanks not drillled or slotted) and some good pads like EBC green stuff or Hawk HPS, but the most important thing is good tires because if you put big or upgraded brakes on and don't have the ability to stick to the road then it doesn't matter whether you have STD brakes or NSX brakes if the car just slides then you won't stop any faster!!!!
I heard bad stuff with integra knuckles so i am stayin away from those,,,, And i really wanted go with bigger rotors and calipers. Rather than stock 88 dx calipers and pads
I use 90-91 4 door ex knuckles. I had them from my 4 door ex shell(someone killed it). then i got my 88 crx dx shell. so what the hay right?
10 inch rotors instead of the 9 inch. from 1 ef chassis to another.
I don't know what bad stuff you heard about integra knuckles. if they were so bad then why do they put them in integras?
It does somewhat effect you suspension, but not to a major degree that would affect it undrivable, or considerably damaging to your vehicle, and it's something an alignment could fix.
regardless do your alignment when you change stuff like the above there is no way a person can put it perfectly straight. it may look straight though.

What i was saying is that those knuckles on a crx mess with the camber. There was a writeup on here i am sure that does the comparison of knuckles. The guy took measurments of the DA knuckles, SIR knuckle, CRX SI AND DX knuckles, etc. They do not recommend those knuckles so i stood clear of any problems. Yeah your right, nomatter what you need an alignment. But if the angle of the wheel is off too much then you'll need a camber kit. Its not worth it. I Just got another crx knuckle instead. Sometimes things can't be fixed with an alignment.
I would get the ex knuckles but they are hard to come by now. I couldn't find them. So what can i use workin with what i have, The 88 crx knuckles and hubs????????????????

putting on DA/DC knuckles won't affect your alignment to where you would need a camber kit. unless the knuckles you bought are bent. IT will however depend on your chassis. for example it's been into an accident, or some mean hitting/hopping off curbs. My friend's crx drives fine with DC knuckles and no camber kit, just got his alignment done.

You should check out FASTBRAKES.com they sell all sorts of brakes kits to try out, The only problem i see with some of there kits is you might have to change rim size for some to fit but now a days how's or stock rims...
