Default piston not pumping

I have a z6 in my garage and the 1 piston isnt pumping when i turn it. What can be the problem? the crankshaft? or the piston itself?

is the other 3 pistons turning? the rod cap could have cam off, turn the crank an listen for **** tinging around? if not drain your oil pan, pull it and check just to make shure. is the car runnin an you just think its runnin off 3? do a commpression test an make shure its geting fuel an firen off.

when i built my boys Ls block he brought it in the garage after he bought it from a junk yard, i tryed turnin the crank but it wasnt budgen for nothin. took the head off an the pistons was seized up from rust. other than that ive never had problams with the pistons not moving.

take the oil pan and windage off so you can see the crank
maybe there isnt even a rod in there...

Yep. Odds are, someone took the rod out or the rod is broken.
Pull the pan and check it out.

It's obviously not any large problem if the engine's out of the car. Then he obviously doesn't need the engine that badly.

Though a piston not pumping like that... That's like unplugging the spark plug wires and wondering why your car won't start. I said "I wish I had problems like that" b/c it's ridiculously obvious that either the rod cap isn't attached (so it's not connected to the rod) or the wrist pin broke and the piston's not connected to the rod (or I suppose the crank could be screwed, but less likely).

Take your pick, either way, I would pull off the pan.
