Turbo if you want a highway Killer, because you could put a GT48R and make gobs of power.
But you will need to do the InlinePRO 300ZX diff conversion if you plan on TONS of power, along with Turbo setup, EMS, and tuning you are looking at about $10-12k.
Then you will need brakes to help you stop and not kill yourself, a suspension to make the car feel more stable at high speeds, a hardtop to be more aerodynamic, and wider wheels with wide *** tires to get some traction. So add on another $8k or so.
You got another $18-20k after buying the S?

have you done any research on this subject yet? a supercharged s2000 also has some kickass top end if you look at dyno charts. a turbo'd s2000 can have a WIDE WIDE range of power depending on what kind of turbo you get. Personally, id just vortech your car and stick with the stock 4.1 gearing since its tall enough for some highway stomping.
you people love beating up newbies for no reason. plain and simple if your looking for a highway killer i would personally go with the inline pro turbo setup which someone stated earlier, it makes loads of power and is nice and reliable. My tuner for my car (jeff evans) has made tons of power on several s2ks with this kit. the choice is ultimately up to you however. Personally turbos seem to be more popular on the hondas because they perform excellent. thats what i would stick with if i was in your shoes. goodluck in your decision. and people try to understand what it is like to be newer to a forum.
if you want to view some dyno charts from those s2ks that Evans tuned his website is http://www.evans-tuning.com click to view the forum then click on dyno graphs. there is atleast 5-10 graphs from stock motor s2ks with turbo kits.

telling him to go with the inlinepro turbo kit is a vague yet agreeable reply. there are handful of turbos that inlinepro offers with their s2000 kit and each one will react differently with the engine.
here are some things you need to consider;
how much power would i like to make?
what kind of money am I willing to spend?
am I willing to deal with the maintenance(fee's) of a modified car?
am I willing to take the extra step to cover all the areas that must be modified to support the extra power the car will be making?
there are alot of factors, expenses, time, and testing/tuning involved with this scenario. before you start digging the hole you might want to go over everything and possibly even create a list so you know where you stand and what to expect.
The easiest route in my book;
Comptech or Vortech supercharger kit (aftercooled or modified for a front mount intercooler)
Full exhaust
DSS drive shafts (probably dont need the full race version)
Comptech reinforced differential case
ACT clutch kit (you might want to ask around on s2ki from others with experience on the models out there)
Krank Vents (almost a must for any boosted s2k)
If you want to get more serious with that setup you can look into an AEM EMS, smaller pulley, inlinepro diff conversion, built motor.

i dont own a s2k so i dont know all the options like you, but im glad you gave a good reply. im sure thats exactly what he was looking for. i just dont understand why you had to make that first post in this thread. but as i said thanks for really helping the guy out with your knowledge. thats what people like you and I are here for. Not to bash people.
understandable. as harsh as it came out i feel that someone looking for information on such a topic should know a bit more then how he came off. it would suck to see him go out and buy the parts though lack the intelligence to keep the car functioning properly. sometimes a rude post can spark a desire to do a little research; coming back and sticking in my face that he has learned a thing or two is more then respected

there's differences between both. ultimately they give more power, but each have very different characteristics. do your research and then make an educated decision. don't have us think for you.
i have a turbo s2k, and put it this way.
S/c is like 5 -6k = 300 - 350whp with a few extra item. like smaller pulley, injector and EMS.. easy install not to many issues.
Turbo like 9 - 12k 350 - 430whp. with inline pro kit, lovefab GT1. ( and some other ) and a lot of work, you need to look for a good tuner,
so if you ready to deal with a lot of work, and make a big hole is your pocket, go turbo
