Default Any damage done to the car???

My friend's car was using conventional oil. I discovered that his oil level was below the 'L' mark, and he didn't have anymore oil in his garage.

Luckily, I had some leftover Mobil1 synthetic oil that I was carrying with me and poured about .5 quart into his engine. So basically, conventional oil and synthetic oil was mixed together.

Was any harm done?

no its not good practice to always mix oil. However, its better than no oil at all.

yeah its always good to have oil rather then no oil.. but its worse if u overfill it rather then low oil... tell ur buddy to check his oil often so he doesnt end up wit a bad motor
