is there truth to this madness? is this guy right?
so for the past 3 weeks i've been having problems getting my car started and to stay running. so i took it to a mechanic and he diagnosed it to being ignition coil and module... he said it's common that this can end the life of the engine? this doesn't sound right to me... is there any truth to this... im just trying to get fact from fiction and trying to go down the most affordable path
IF the guy is right about it being the coil and module, He is either lying to you, or very very ignorant.
Either way, I think you need to find a new mechanic.

End the life of the engine, as to killing it, or it just not running?
I know I've heard some people having problems that was dist related,
and it not letting the car run once it warms up so much or something like that.

your mechanic took to much crack or something. It would be really rare for something in the distributor to cause the "end of the motor", At most its just not going to run untill you get whatever it is replaced
