Installing Trunk Lip Mount Antenna Question
I am going to install a trunk lip mount antenna on my car in a few days. It has coax cable running to it but im not sure where I should run it through.
Below is the only way I can figure out how to run the wire. The green line is the coax cable running from the antenna, down the gutter and below the tail light where i was planning on drilling a hole to run it into the trunk, up the side of the car and into the center console where the cup holders are.

Does anyone else have an idea to run it? I don’t see any other way to do it. I can’t just drop it directly into the trunk and have the lid close on it because it cant be pinched at all...
someone said that most hondas have a crack that i can slip it into but i dont know what they are talking about
Any input is welcomed

The weatherstripping should have enough give so you can run it right into the trunk at the point you mount the antenna... I bet it doesn't pinch as much as you think it will...
Then, you can run the cable down the hinge and into the car that way...

Ditto the above^^^.
The mounting bracket should have a "channel" in it just for that, so the coax ends up inside the weatherstrip.

it does have a channel but its not long enough to protect it from the weatherstrip; ill try to just run it inside tho.
Here is a pic of the base of the antenna(Its a Wilson 1000 Trunk Lip Mount)

I didn’t think so but some other people said it would so I searched for a new location for it but I just ran it to the hinge and it seems to work with it between the weather strip and the trunk lid.
I get my Cobra 148 GTL in the mail Monday. After a peak, tune and tuning the antenna, I should be golden
