he just bought it and you exspect him to be racing it? You know with the S2000 they recomend you keep it under vtec for the first 1000 miles to break it in good?
I dunno if he is truly racing against a prelude and lossing then indeed he isnt a good driver but if he is not going over Vtec and babying his car i dont blame him.

Its terrible when good cars get bad owners, a kid I know's parents offered to buy him any car he wants when he turns 16. He saw the fast and the furious and decided to get a twin turbo supra,
the bastard. He'll probally wreck it in a week.

I hope he learns how to drive and respect it b4 he wrecks it. It's a shame to see a good car go to a kid that's just learning how to drive.
About the race thing, the fact that he can't drag race doesn't matter, does it? Even if it did, bad drag racing skills doesn't necessitate bad street driving skills, as street driving skills is more about defensive driving, willingness to respect and obey street signs and traffic laws, having a good driving habits and etiquettes, and above all, having the experience to get him/herself out of tight spots (i.e., avoid accidents) when needed to be. On the other hand, drag racing is basically a no-brainer kind of stuff that's more about launching and shifting techniques and nothing more. So give this kid a break.....

Hi there! I've just come over from http://www.s2000online.com. Wanted to chime in on this topic.
15.3? That S2000 must have been driven by somebody who has absolutely no idea!!!
The S2000 stock pulls early 14's on the quarter. There are a number of people who are even getting high 13's....some stock, others with simple bolt on's. Add a 50 shot and the S2000 are doing low 13's.
I really don't believe that there is any way the Prelude will hang with a properly driven S2000. Granted though, races can be a lot closer if one driver gets even the slightest jump on the start. And the S2000 isn't the easiest to launch well.
That's why I don't bother street racing mine from standing starts.......I'm not one to abuse my drivetrain by doing 7000rpm launches. I much prefer hauling *** when moving through turns...and on the (road racing) circuit.
Cheers.

Sorry.....I was tired when I made the post and had been up early!!! My bad!
So, I guess the consensus is that not everybody can drive the S2000 well. Beaten by a Prelude....15.3....you can't be as consistent in an S2000 as in a Camaro? So, there's more skill involved in launching properly. Although, as I stated above... one thing the S2000 is not, is a drag car.
Let's just hope that this guy doesn't wreck his new S2K trying to better him times or impress somebody. Maybe he will learn to drive it? Hope so, because the S is not forgiving at the limit.
