Default Shifting Problem

I have a 91 crx with a b18c and an Avid Crx bseries shift linkage with poly urethane bushings installed..My current problem is that when I shift hard into 2nd gear, it sometime locks into position and i have to force it out to get into third..I have yet to check the transmission fluid, but my friend said that he flushed the tranny and filled it up while i was eating...

Any Thoughts??
